The Grey Tigyr Tai Ji Quan / Kung Fu Association
was founded in 1992.

The founder, Bill Swann D.O, has been teaching Tai Ji Quan since 1991. He began his study of the martial arts in 1970, studying Shaolin for several years and going on to Tai Ji Quan in 1974. At first Dr. Swann's practice and training was sporadic for about ten years as he was devoting much of his time to his family, the study of Osteopathic, Internal and Emergency medicine. About that same time period he was servicing as a physician for the United States Army Medical Corp.
          Currently, Dr. Swann is a senior staff physican at Suburban Shock Trauma,in Bethesda, maryland. At times, he also he consults on "Medical Exercise" and Manual Medicine Practice (Osteopathinc and Cranial Sacral manipulation)
          Dr. Swann has participated in multiple regional, national and international competions and, between 1971 to present, has received both 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Medals in Push Hands (Fixed & moving step), Yang form, Sun form, Yang Sword and Full Contact Shaolin.
          Married in 1975, he and his wife have raised three, now grown, children and now enjoys a beautiful grandson.
